(Sorry should have had this up earlier.)
Up On The Roof Top
It was my first Christmas away
from home, but not to worry! I didn`t break down crying or anything!
The work is always moving forward here! I was so happy to be able to
call back home! Afterwards my companion kept saying (in Spanish) " I
can`t believe your mom didn`t cry!" and literally in the next few days
she would randomly remember and say "Your mom and grandma are so
beautiful and soo young... your mom looks like she could be your
sister!"
For Christmas Eve we ate dinner at a
member`s house and then afterwards we went up to our roof and watched
all the fireworks! It was super fun, especially because I could see my
favorite constellation (Orion)!
The friends
that we were able to use their internet in order to Skype home, they are
some of our investigators. And they are soo amazing!! They get so
excited about the gospel and I can see it in their eyes when they feel
the Spirit. They told us that they are starting to feel a change in
their lives, and it makes me so happy to be a part of it. They came to
church this Sunday!!
The bishop hugged them really tightly and told them that he wanted them
to get baptized, haha :) We have a date set for January for them!
The
gospel is so important, It`s funny that I thought I realized how
important it was before my mission, but now I understand that it`s even
more vital than I realized! It`s the whole reason we`re on this
Earth--to take the greatest and most important exam we`ve ever taken:
the Test of Our Faith. And later our Teacher is going to grade our work
when we`re right there with Him!! So let`s all do our best on this test,
and help others do their best too, okay? If someone is struggling,
there are lots of tutors available!! (Which includes missionaries like
me!!) Haha, I hope you enjoy my cute little metaphor :) I`m serious
though!!
I hope Christmas was awesome back at
home! I`ve gotten to eat some really interesting food lately-- We`ve
been served cow tongue and liver, and sheeps` hearts. Haha, it`s fun,
but nothing beats my mom and grandma`s cooking! :)
I
love you guys so much! And I`m so grateful for all the prayers you send
my way. I pray for you too! I learn more every day, and there will
always be more to learn :) It`s tough sometimes being out on my own for
the first time, but I`m not really alone, and neither is anyone else!!
The Lord is always right there with us, willing to help us through
anything as long as we put our trust in Him!
Happy Holidays!

| A picture from the family that was letting Paige Skype with us. We are very grateful! |
We were super excited to Skype with Paige. She looks so good and happy. She's been so use to speaking Spanish, that occasionally as she spoke English she would use a Spanish word.;) We got to meet her companion who said that she will take good care of Paige for us and has informed us that Paige is a good missionary. We got to hear them sing a Christmas carol in Spanish. We met the family that let them use their computer as well. I didnt cry because it was so good to see Paige.:) I do feel comfort from the Spirit that Paige is doing well and is where she should be. That helps not be a blubbering mom. ;) I wont get to Skype with her until May so maybe by then Ill cry.;) She love to hear from you all. She'd love to get letters. :)
