La Semana Santa y más
Hola Familia and Amigos,
This week was an amazing week to be fed
spiritually! We worked a lot with the members this week (when it wasn´t
conference) and we were able to find a lot of new people to teach with
some of the members! It was a little tough this week because it was the
Holy Week, and so most people go visit their families... but we were
still able to talk to some people! We´ve also been telling Everyone to
see the new short Easter movie that the church put out, Because He
Lives. I hope that everyone has been able to see it!
Here
in Uruguay, the Easter tradition is that there is a whole week of
vacations for the school children and a lot of people are off of work.
It´s kind of sad because a lot of people don´t know that true meaning of
why we celebrate Easter. Some people just call the Holy Week the Week
of Vacations. I was so surprised at how many people didn´t know why we
celebrate Easter when we asked them, to be honest I thought the first
person was kidding when he said he didn´t know, when we were contacting.
That just shows that there´s still a lot of work to be done here to
bring people to Christ! On Friday a lot of people will do a fast from
food, and then some people go to concerts. They sell and hand make
hollow chocolate eggs and put sweets or toys in them for the little
kids, and then they get to eat them on Sunday.
We
got to watch the live stream of General Conference on Saturday and
Sunday, and it was amazing! I went to conference with some personal
questions and I received my answers! (Don´t worry mom, it wasn´t about
marriage) I know that the General Authorities are truly inspired to
speak to all the world according to our needs. I intend to put
everything I learned from conference into practice in my life!
This
week is transfers and I´m so excited to stay here in Fray Bentos with
Hermana Olson, who was just called to be the Sister Training Leader!
We´re going to work harder than ever this change! Hermana Tate is
staying here and she´s going to be companions with one of the hermanas
from my CCM group, Hermana Short! I´m really excited to see her again,
she comes tomorrow.
I love you guys! Thanks for
all the prayers and letters. I hope everyone was able to receive
their
own personal revelations during conferences! Keep moving forward, growing
stronger in the faith, and Never lose your awe for the gospel!
