Week 25 (6 months completed, 12 months to go!)

                                                                                                                              April 20th, 2015

"So when are you coming back?"

Hey Familia and Amigos!

This week we had some really touching experiences that really made my week amazing! In the beginning of the week we visited a couple who aren`t coming to church very often. We taught them about the doctrine of Christ and they told us that they`d come to church "Siempre!" (Forever), and then when we finished they asked us "So when are you coming back?" It was such a spiritual lesson, and I love seeing how animated people are when they understand God`s plan for us.

We also had an amazing lessons with one of our investigators, Paola. She had her friend over, who was there for the first lesson that we ever had with Paola, but hadn`t been there since. Paola and her friend had lots of really great questions, and some of the questions that Paola`s friend had we had already taught we Paola before, and Paola started explaining to her friend the answers! It was super amazing to know that she really understands what we`re teaching and takes it so seriously, even though she`s young. By the end they decided to walk to church together on Sundays as soon as Paola`s knee recovers (she injured it recently). And before we even got out our planners Paola`s friend asks, "So when are you coming back?" so that she could be there again when we visit Paola. Then gospel truly touches people`s hearts, and changes their lives!

We`re also teaching a super sweet lady named America. She always gets really emotional when we come to visit, because she`s going through a big trial in her life right now, recently having had a seizure. The other day she told us how much she loves us, and that she`s starting to see how the Lord is blessing her life!

I got a call in the middle of the week from the zone leaders, and Surprise! I was giving a talk this Sunday. I got up in front of everyone yesterday with my talk plan written out (scripture references and a few brief notes)  and looked at all 103 people in the small chapel and I thought, "I don`t think I remember how to speak Spanish..." Haha, somehow I thought serving a mission would help me get over fear of public speaking, but I guess I still have another year to work on that one!

Tonight we`re catching an omnibus at three in the morning to go to a conference with Elder Oaks! I`m so excited to have this opportunity to hear from him again. We`ll be in Montevideo with the other mission, so I`ll have some news to report on that next week!

I love you guys! Thanks for all the support and prayers! I`m learning so much out here, and becoming more and more converted to the gospel myself. I know that this gospel is truly Christ`s teachings, and I`m so grateful to live in the time of the restoration! Keep searching for more truth, there`s more than a lifetime`s worth of it to learn!
