Week 30

                                                                                                                              May 25th 2015

Welcome to Colonia!

Hola!

So this week I got transferred to Juan Lacaze in the zone of Colonia. In Colonia, the church is still growing and there aren`t any wards yet, they`re all branches. Our chapel is super small and there aren`t very many members, but the members that are here are super loving and I just love it here! Sometimes it can get a little overwhelming in a ward of 100 people like Fray Bentos, my last area, so coming here is a nice change. My new companion is Hermana Guzmàn, from Bolivia. She is going to finish her mission a little early next transfer for her studies, so i`ll probably stay with her until then.

I was super privileged to be able to come here just in time for the baptism of Julio! He is a really humble man with a missionary spirit! He is already working with us to introduce his friends and family to the gospel. It`s an amazing time to be here in Juan Lacaze!

This Sunday was the district conference of Colonia, so we had to take about three buses to get there. It was amazing! Our mission president came with his family and they spoke to everyone. It was so powerful! He explained to everyone that every first Sunday of the month he and his family have their own testimony meeting in their house where everyone can share their testimonies together. I invite everyone to take this challenge, and promise you that it will strengthen your families! He also talked about the example of Nephi, and how everyone wants to follow the example of him and not of Laman or Lemuel--but when we come up with excuses for not sharing the gospel with others, we`re not following the example of Nephi, but Laman and Lemuel.

After the conference the president`s wife was trying to talk to a Uruguayan sister and she wasn`t completely understanding, so she asked me to come translate for her! I got sort of nervous to translate for someone for the first time and ended up speaking a little bit of Spanglish, but it was a really neat opportunity. I love the mission! The church is just one big family! It brings us so much joy and comfort. I love you all! Keep sharing what you know is true!
