Parenthood
Dear Everyone,
Well, this has been my first few days
as a trainer, and we`ve had a lot of experiences! My companion`s name is
Hermana Silva, and she is from Brazil! So I`m learning some Portuguese
now. She is so full of energy and hope and it`s truly amazing to be
working with a new missionary! I have seen so many miracles in these
last few days.
Every one in a while, we stop by
to check on the Bueno sisters, they were the first members to be
baptized here in Artigas and a few weeks ago one of them fell and broke
their hip, so we go by to sing a few hymns and teach them a message.
Blanca stays with them to help take care of them and she`s not a member
of the church. Hermana Vivaldina has a little bit of dementia and every
time we come over she asks Blanca if she`s a member and when she says no
Vivaldina tells her that she will be soon. Last night we gave Blanca a
book of Mormon and she committed to read it every day, and to read for
the sisters Bueno. I almost cried when Hermana Vivaldina gave her
testimony of the book of Mormon. She hardly remember if I have come to
her house before or if i`m north American, but she remembers how the
book of Mormon has helped her through her trials.
I
know that this is a true work! I know that we can`t always understand
everything that the Lord does, but we will never receive a testimony
until AFTER the trial of our faith. Ether 12:4. So trust in the Lord and
obey him first, and then later you will understand his great plan that
he has prepared for you! I love you all and thank you so much!
