A Trip to the Montevideo Fireside

Hello Everyone,

This week was incredible!

So we`ve been visiting our neighbors, Marita and Maria. Unfortunately they haven`t been able to come to church yet because they`ve been busy with Carnival, which is a crazy holiday here in Uruguay. But what is amazing is that this week, the whole family listened to us, and we invited the father, Angel to baptism as well. He said yes!! He said he wanted to support his family in their decision. They are such a sweet family and the Lord is preparing them so much--I know that He guides this work.

On Saturday and Sunday we traveled to Montevideo to be in a stake fireside. They needed the sisters from Colonia because they`re aren`t very many sisters in Montevideo and they wanted a balanced choir. I missed the Artigas fireside and Colonia had already had theirs when I got here, so it was the first fireside I got to be in this year, and it was incredible! The theme was the restoration of the gospel, and with the testimonies of new members and especially the hymn (The Prophet`s Prayer?). The Spirit was so strong you could see tears in everyone`s eyes.

This week as I was studying and talking with another sister, I learned something that I`d like to share with you. We were talking about the word Valiant, which in the guide to the scriptures means to not have fear to do the right thing. But it`s true that sometimes we`re afraid to do the right--to stand up for our beliefs or a friend or even to get up and share your testimony. But if you really think about it, does that kind of fear come from God? What we need is Courage! To act despite of the small fears we have. When we act, we become stronger and our fears will go away little by little every time. Be valient, and do what is right, and you we be so blessed!

 22 Brethren, shall we not go on in so great a cause? Go forward and not backward. Courage, brethren; and on, on to the victory! Let your hearts rejoice, and be exceedingly glad. Let the earth break forth into singing.
