Week 12

                                                                                January 13, 2015

Here`s to another great week in the mission!

 Hola Familia!!!

So this week we`ve had some adventures! It was really exciting because the President came to our area in order to train us in all the new changes for this year.  It was super spiritual and I understood almost everything! All of the changes are motivating us to work with the members of the church in order to help others come closer to Christ with the restored gospel and also to strengthen the testimonies of the members.  I don`t know if there are similar changes back home, but I hope all of you try to get a chance to help the missionaries! It`s so helpful to have members with us, because missionaries are sorta weird, but members are normal people, so we need each other to bring others into the gospel!

Something that I`ve learned from my companion is that the true success of a missionary isn`t the numbers, or even how many people you strengthen.  The success of a missionary is in her own conversion to the gospel. Sometimes missionaries return home and leave the church, which is so sad because they had the truth!  I was pondering this and I realized that also, the true success of life on earth is your own conversion.  For everyone! :) We need to be constantly seeking to convert ourselves to the gospel of Jesus Christ, because He has provided so much for us, and All of it is for our benefit and happiness.

This week we were looking for someone I met when I was on splits with another Hermana, and I read the address incorrectly, so we were walking for a really long time in the rain, when all of the sudden we saw a car get really close to someone on a motor cycle, and the motorcyclist hit the curb and fell off!! It was so scary, my companion and I ran to try to help somehow, and It turned out that the guy on the motorcycle was a member of the church! He was okay, he just needed some stitches. But I felt really bad because earlier that day I had a first-aid kit in my bag that I received as a present from another Hermana who returned home this transfer! But I left it in our house...

This Sunday was the best because we doubled the number of our investigators who came to church this week compared to last week! It was so crazy to try to make sure to talk to all of them.  Some of them are siblings and they are so excited to get baptized in a few weeks that that begged us to show them the baptismal font :) it was so amazing to see how excited they are.  The gospel truly changes people`s lives for the better :) They say they want to be missionaries too, one day!

So that`s about it for this week I think... I`m starting to understand a lot more of what people say, now I just have to focus on teaching skills :) My companion is an incredible example to me! She`s an incredible missionary.  I hope that I`ll be able to teach like her. I just have to keep working hard!

I love you all!
