My companion left me!
Dear Family and Friends,
This week was amazing! The
Lord truly guided us to find more people to teach and bring the gospel!
This Tuesday my companion called one of the youth from one of her old
areas, Dolores (I went there one day when I did divisions in Fray
Bentos) and she came! Her name is Selene and she wants to go on a
mission. We called her because on Wednesday Hermana Guzmàn went to
Montevideo to say goodbye with the group of missionaries who went home
this week, because she is going to leave before the next transfers. So I
worked with Selene for a little more than a whole day, and it was a
really great experience for me to be the companion who makes all the
choices (there`s a term for that in English but I don`t remember what it
is). Everyone in Juan Lacaze loved Selene! She`s a great girl and is
going to be a fantastic missionary soon. I`ll probably work with her for
a few weeks when Hermana Guzmàn leaves.
This
week we had an amazing experience. We met two women who were a reference
from a member here named Romina and Mabel. They have really strong
faith in God, but they feel confused about what church is true. We
taught them about the restoration of the Gospel through Joseph Smith,
and at the end of the lesson, we all got on our knees and Romina said a
prayer asking God which church was true. It was such a powerful moment,
the Spirit was so strong in that little house. Romina finished praying
and she had tears in her eyes.
The Gospel is
amazing, It changes lives! I`ve been learning lately that even when we
accept the Gospel and we`re doing our best, God will still send us
trials every once in a while to test our patience and our faith. So
don`t get down on yourself! Every trial you have is for your benefit, to
help you gain wisdom and become stronger. Have confidence in Him!
