Week 39

July 27th, 2015

Praying for experiences

Dear Family and Friends,

Well, lately my companion and I have been praying to have experiences, and let me tell you, prayer is a powerful thing.... I don`t think I`ll be able to write all the crazy things that have happened this past week, but I`ll do my best.

This week we had divisions and it was great! I worked with my trainer, Hermana Urbina, who is now the Sister Training Leader for our zone. It was really great to work with my trainer again because I could really reflect on how far I`ve come in these past nine months. We worked hard and had a great day, and we found some new people to teach.

Speaking of my time in the mission, on Thursday I completed NINE MONTHS in the mission! I can`t believe it! It came so much faster than I thought. But I`m so grateful for all the experiences that have helped me grow in my time on the mission, and I`m looking forward to the many more I`m going to have.
This week we were able to have a lesson with Marianna! She has been an investigador for a long time, and she is so loving with the missionaries and the members. She wants to be baptized, but she loves her parents and they have taken her to another church for her whole life, and she feels like she owes them a lot for taking care of her all these years. She can`t walk without support and her parents have always been there. We`re really working with her, she has a really special spirit.
A little miracle--my companion has been having back problems and the last few weeks we`ve had to travel to Colonia so that she could receive treatment. Before the mission I had a lot of back problems too, but in the mission it hasn`t been too bad. The past few weeks I`ve been carrying my companion`s backpack because it really hurts her to carry it all day. But it`s a miracle because for me, it doesn`t weigh much at all and I haven`t any back problems. So whenever she feels bad that I`m taking her bag so often, I tell her that I`m not carrying her backpack, Christ is. Because He promises that His burden is light. And I testify that this is true. No matter how heavy your burdens are, with Christ, you can find rest.  **This truly touches me because Ive seen the pain Paige has with her back due to her scoliosis.
I love you all!

***Paige and I disagree on the actual date of her 9 months. She thinks one month has gone by on the 23rd of each month, and Im going by her weekly emails. I guess in the end we will see who is right. Haha
Their funny way of showing Paige has hit 9 months. Haha

Carrying the backpacks.
