Week 41

August 11, 2015

Another transfer (or is it?)

Buen Dìa!
We had an interesting week here in Juan Lacaze, This week was the last one of the transfer and we were sort of worried about what would happen when transfers came because the leaders were talking about closing our area, but as it turns out we`re staying here, and I`m going to stay with Hermana Short this transfer! I`m so excited to work with her and see how we can help Juan Lacaze progress. I love this place so much.
This week we found a lot of new investigadors, which is something we really need here in our area, so hopefully we`ll see some progress with them that I`ll be able to report on. Hermana Short got sick this week as well so we were in for a few days, but we`ve set some goals for this next transfer to be able to work together and be the Lord`s instruments in this little branch.
The recent converts from my first area sent me an email that my mission president came to visit them with the zone leaders over there in Paysandù. They sent a picture! I`m hoping to be able to go to the temple with them this month, the week before my birthday, to do the baptism for their mom who died a year ago.
I`d like to share a little of my recent studies--as I read Alma 3:18-19 I was meditating that sometimes we as humans like to be a little rebellious. We get this feeling that it would be really fun, or a little crazy, but that`s a feeling that the enemy puts into our hearts. Rebelliousness is when we don`t obey the commandments or refuse the counsels of the Lord`s chosen leaders. Sometimes we feel like we can rebel just a little, but we don`t realize that we`re just hurting ourselves. Doctrine and Covenants 1:3 explains that our rebelliousness will only make us sorrowful, and it`s true. So I invite you all to mediate your personal obedience to the commandments and modern day counsels and "lay down your weapons of rebellion" Alma 23:7 to be able to recieve all the blessings that the Lord has prepared for you!
I love you all and I can tell you with complete confidence that this church is true, and that through these teachings we can find greater joy than any other way, no matter how many trials come our way. Stay strong!
