Week 45

Sept. 7th 2015

So long, Arabian Nights...

Hello!

Well this week wasn´t as full of as many completely crazy experiences like we´ve had, but it was still a good week!

We´ve been working with a couple, Veronica and Fabian. We´ve been visiting them for a few weeks and they´ve accepted the invitation to be baptized! Hopefully they´ll be able to make it to church this week. Veronica is hilarious, when we left her house on Tuesday she asked us where we were off to next. We told her we were going to her neighbor´s house because we had contacted there before. She came with us, knocked on her neighbor´s window and told her to listen to us and to not make us stay outside in the cold. It was really funny of her! All she really wants is the best for her family and peace in her house, and she´s been able to see answers to her prayers. It´s truly amazing!

My birthday was this Thursday and Alba, a woman in the branch decided to make me and one of the elders in the branch a cake (because we share the same birthday). She really went all out! She is a really loving person and even though she doesn´t have much, she gives everything that she has. She is a true example of Christlike service and love. We shared a message about being born again, to go with the theme of the day. Being born again means having a change of heart, and leaving all desires to do bad things. It means committing yourself to obey God and His commandments. It goes along with the consecration, which we learned a lot about in the zone interviews on Wednesday. I´m really striving to be a consecrated missionary, which means leaving my will to do God´s will. In this way, I´ll be able to continue being a consecrated person even beyond the mission. I invite you all to consecrate your life to be more in line with what the Lord wants for you!

Sadly last night we got a call from Nada, saying that she and her family were going to Montevideo this morning to sign their visa papers and leave the country. So we went to their house to say goodbye to them and give them their Arabic Book of Mormon. It is so sad to see them go, but I know without a doubt that the Lord is preparing their way. Meri, the dad, read the introduction to the Book of Mormon and said he really liked it. My prayer is that this book will be a source of comfort for them in their trials as Syrian refugees.

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes! I love you all!

Paige is 20!!! Happy Birthday Paige!
We celebrated Paige's 20th birthday. Madison made a yummy new dessert.

So happy that she has good people taking care of her while she is so far away.
