First Days of Christmas Miracles
Dear Everyone,
So the Christmas miracles begin! This
week we had an amazing experience while we were out working! We were
out in the morning and none of our appointments worked out, so Hermana
Silva said that we should stop by Norsa and Hector who are two active
members who lived nearby. We went to their house and they gave us two
references. After leaving their house we went to one of the references,
who was an inactive woman who had a bad experience with missionaries in
the past. We knocked her door and she opened it and said "come in!" and
then she told us that she thought the missionaries would never come by
again and that she missed our visits. We invited her to ask her husband
to join us but she said that her husband wasn`t a member and never
listened to the missionaries. She was really reluctant but finally was
convinced and she asked him to join us. They both listened to our
message about the plan of salvation and they were so excited! It was
incredible that the Lord lead us to their house because it had been 40
years that his wife, Celeste had been a member and received visits from
the missionaries, but that day was the first day he ever listened! I
know that this is the Lord`s work, and not ours!
This
Monday and Tuesday we had a special zone conference in Montevideo for
Christmas! We received training from our leaders which was amazing, and
then on Tuesday we all took a family name to the temple to do all the ordinances for them. You could feel the Spirit so strong as we all did
this service for our own ancestors. I know that the temple is a holy
place, where we can receive answers to our prayers and do the work that
will bless our family eternally and make it possible for us all to live
together forever, even after death, according to our daily efforts!
I would like to invite all families to study the talk by Jeffrey Holland called The Tongue of Angels.
This is what we studied this Christmas with our mission president and
his wife. I know that in our families and our relationships, if we can
learn to master our manner of speech, we can improve the amount of peace
and happiness in our homes. I invite you all to share this as a message
in your Family Home Evening and set goals personally and as a family to
be able to speak with "the tongue of angels" in every moment. I testify
that if you will follow the counsel of Elder Holland, that there will
not be any fighting at home, the Spirit will always be present, and you
will become peacemakers. It is inspired counsel!
