Week 58

December 7, 2015

Christmas Miracles are coming!

Dear Everyone,

Well, you´re probably all getting pretty tired of me saying that this week we had miracles, but this week we had more miracles! The mission is a miracle! So here we go....

This week we had divisions and I went to Barrio 3 for a day and my companion stayed in our area. The heat is coming to Artigas!! The other day we hit over 30 degrees Celsius, with killer humidity--summer is coming!

Unfortunately we had a few obstacles this week, but they were to make us stronger! Hermana Silva tripped in the streets the other day and twisted her ankle, it hurt for a while, but we don´t think she hurt herself too badly. We asked the zone leaders to come and hive her a blessing and went out to work--and the Lord blessed us in the process! We were walking to one of our appointments when a woman called out to us from her house, she invited us in her house and let us teach her and her best friend. We shared the restoration with them and they loved it!

We have an investigador, Blanca Trinidad, who is progressing so quickly! We have set a baptismal date of December 26th, the day after Christmas. She is so excited for the baptism that when we were at church yesterday she asked one of the sisters if she would give a talk in her baptism. She wants to be as diligent in her faith as the Hermanas Bueno, who she is taking care of. We invited them both to pray in her baptism.

Aly and Antonio have changed so much! The Lord is changing their hearts. Before, they didn´t want to even talk about marriage, and now, yesterday, they promised to send me an invitation to their temple sealing! They plan on getting married in July, which is a little far away, but I´m still really happy for them. Aly came to church yesterday for the first time without Antonio and we taught them about Fasting on Saturday. In Gospel Principles at the end of the class, she announced to everyone that she was fasting for the first time. She was so content about it!

There were two scriptures that really stuck out to me this week in my studies and I really felt that I needed to share them with all of you. the Lord says in Jacob 4...
8 Behold, great and marvelous are the works of the Lord. How unsearchable are the depths of the mysteries of him; and it is impossible that man should find out all his ways. And no man knoweth of his ways save it be revealed unto him; wherefore, brethren, despise not the revelations of God.

I know that the only way that we can know God́s will is through revelation. The prophets have revealed Christ́s Doctrine since the old times, and they keep receiving revelation today.

10 Wherefore, brethren, seek not to counsel the Lord, but to take counsel from his hand. For behold, ye yourselves know that he counseleth in wisdom, and in justice, and in great mercy, over all his works.

We shouldńt seek to change modern revelations so that they are more pleasing for our will. We must be content to follow God́s will, whatever it is. Because we cańt understand all things, but He does. The only way to receive his blessings is through our obedience to His commandments. And He wants to bless us and guide us and for this he reveals his will to our modern prophets!

I love you all and am so grateful for all your support. Happy holidays!

Hermana Autery
