Stake Chrsitmas Devotional was a Success!
Dear Everybody,
Well this last week of transfers was
the calmest transfer day of my whole mission--we didn´t transfer nor the
other sisters in our house so it just felt like a normal day!
Unfortunately this week we received the notice from our leaders that we
have to move out of the White House, because they don´t want more than
one companionship living in one house, so basically the whole zone is
going house hunting. It was a miracle because we talked with one owner
and he lowered the price 8000 pesos for us just because we´re
missionaries! I´m going to add house bargaining to the list of things
that I didn´t expect to learn in the mission...
This
week we had a Stake Christmas Devotional and we spent the week inviting
all of Artigas! It turned out really beautiful. It was all music
performances from members, a choir from the city, a small orchestra, and
then at the end all the missionaries sung He Is The Christ. It was so
powerful! It´s amazing the way that music can soften hearts, I know that
hymns are praises and prayers to God! At the very end, an older woman
from our ward was supposed to say the closing prayer, but I think she
forgot because she got up there and shared her testimony while we all
had our eyes closed and heads bowed.
This
Sunday we had a miracle! After sacrament meeting a man asked us if we
could visit his family. He said he had already asked us a month ago, but
it turns out he asked missionaries from another ward. We went to their
house yesterday and it turns out that they´re active members, but they
recently moved into our ward and they were hesitant to start coming to
our ward because his wife was worried about having to receive a calling.
We had a great lesson with them and they committed to come next week!
It´s an amazing family.
This week in my studies Mosiah 7:33
really touched me. I know that when we are diligent and put our trust
in the Lord, that He helps us with all of our efforts. I love you all!
Thank you so much for everything, and a very Merry Christmas to you all!
